Self-Reliance

"If you can love me for what I am, we shall be happier."

This is a quote from "Self-Reliance by Ralf Waldo Emerson. This is significant to me because I work my hardest to love myself for what I am so you should also love me for what I am. Loving yourself if the most important thing to self happiness. Then once you love yourself it would also be nice for others to love you for what you are. Then we shall all be happy.

Is A Person Really Innocent Until Proven Guilty??

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fa/Independence_Hall_Public_Court_Room.jpgThis is always a comment brought up when talking about a person being taken to court. Its is known that a person is always innocent until proven guilty but when someone is brought to court a jury always has some type of agenda or bias towards someone. It may be cause they have heard things about this person or it may be that they produce a bias about them based on their appearance. So with all the bias in the world, is anyone really innocent in the eyes of others?? Therefor, it must take a lot to be proven guilty..

Unwritten

The song Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield is a very important song to me. I like to use this song when I am trying to get inspired to write and become creative. Here are the lyrics to this song and I think you should be able to tell how inspiring it can be to start writing and be creative.

I am unwritten, can't read my mind, I'm undefined
I'm just beginning, the pen's in my hand, ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Oh, oh, oh

I break tradition, sometimes my tries, are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes, but I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find

Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Home Away From Home

In my junior English class we read “My Sojourn in the Land of My Ancestors” by Maya Angelo. In this story she describes the experience of finding a “home away from home” as she travels in Africa. Now we have been assigned to describe a place that feels like home to us. A “home away from home” for me would be my dance studio. My dance studio doesn’t always have to most pleasant smell of sweat. When we get back out on the dance floor, the feeling of the cold marley floor under my feet it makes me think I am able to express what I want to say through dance.

Metelka Wedding 2014

One of my very best friends is getting married just a few days from now. August 16th is the date. Trisha and I first met at Julies School of Dance 6 years ago. 2 days left!!!

Trisha started as my dance teacher but quickly evolved to my best friend. Trisha and I have danced together in many pieces and I always love getting to be in a number she choreographs herself! I remember the first dance I was ever in that she choreographed was "Wash that Man Right Out of my Hair"! Her classes are always so much fun with her crazy personality and face paced teaching style.

One Saturday she asked my other two friends, Kelli and Sara, and I to meet her for lunch at our favorite Mexican place in Hermitage. Of course we were all asking about her proposal and looking at her ring and then she asked us to be her bridesmaids. Kelli, Sara and I have been waiting for this moment ever since her and Jimbo, her fiancé, had been dating. We were beyond excited! We had so much fun going bridesmaid dress shopping and planing the wedding shower and now finally getting so close to the wedding day! I know I could not be happier to be able to share this very exciting moment in Trisha's life with her!

Trisha, I love you and I cannot wait to celebrate this day with you!

Two more days!

A Separate Peace Book Trailer

For English class, this summer we were required to read the book A Separate Peace by John Knowles. Now our teacher has asked us to create a book trailer for the book that shows the themes and symbols. I used Anamodo to create my video. Each image represents something special. The first picture is a staircase. The staircase is a symbol because it is where a lot of important events happens. Next is the lake because they would always jump from the tree to the water. Then there is the tree. The tree was very important because a lot of things having to do with Gene's and Finny's friendship happened there. Lastly they were friends through the war. Not just the actual WWII but the war of friendship.

Before You Knew It.... JUNIOR YEAR

Ware taking quite a big step from when I last posted. From the end of freshman year to the beginning of junior year. Of course it is important to have goals because if you do not have goals then you are just wasting your time. One goal for my junior year is to pass honors chemistry. Well.. I would like to do more than pass it! Hopefully make only A's and B's in the class but right now it is already very hard. Luckily my teacher, Mrs. Townsend, is very helpful and is willing to do whatever till we understand it. Another goal I have is to gain a deeper relationship with two of my best friends Tiffani and Autumn. We are in out youth group together and they are both younger than me but I really love them and want to keep encouraging them and mentoring them in their walk with Jesus. My last goal for this year is to become less afraid of standing up for what I believe. Everyone has those friends who sometimes may have conversations you don't like or you see a kid being left out. Well this year I want to be able to convertibility stand up for what I believe and not be so hesitant.
