A Moment of Encouragement
This
year while I was preparing for the 2012 Burlingame Studios of Dance
Recital I was overloaded with stress. We had to preform all the dances
we had done for the past year. The weeks leading up to the recital were
not the best but when it came to the week of, I was tested. This year at
the recital I was to perform 10 numbers. This included Ballet, Pointe, 3
Jazz, 2 Lyrical, Tap, Hip-hop, and my Solo. The week of the recital we
had our normal practice, Monday and Wednesday, but then we had an extra
rehearsal Tuesday, then dress rehearsal Thursday and the show Friday and
Saturday. The whole week I was continuing to work on finishing my solo,
witch I should have had done a lot sooner, and kept thinking to myself I
wasn't ready. While all these extra practices were going on I had to
work VBS at my church, New Hope Baptist, from 8:30 to noon. I thought I
was going to die. Monday through Wednesday were fine, No problem! But
Thursday I went to babysit after VBS till 4 and the dress rehearsal
started at 6. Not a good day. At that point I was like this can't happen
but my Mom and my best friend continuously told me that I had work very
hard throughout the year and I could do it, Even if I had to chose not
to work VBS that Friday Morning. Luckly the teacher I was working with
for VBS was My best friend's mom. So Friday I just slept in late and
when to the stage early so I wouldn't be rushed and everything was
perfect! After the show my friends and family told me I did amazing! So
after that Saturday night was a breeze!

Lessons From Summer Reading
This summer for English I we had to read a summer reading book. Either, The Outsiders, or The Giver. I choice to read The Giver. Now, Everyone who knows me knows I HATE reading, and I DON'T read. This year, since were in high school and its totally different than anything we knew I knew I had to suck it up and read the book. Now just 'cause I read the book doesn't mean I did not procrastinate. Don't worry I waited till the last day of my Florida trip (also five days before school) with my friend Shelby and her parents to start the first three chapters of the book, then read another twelve on the car ride home the next day. Once I started reading the book I thought to myself, Wow this is really interesting. Then I found myself wanting to keep reading and getting excited about what might Jonas do next. This book was a real page turner for me. In fact it was the first "page turner" I had ever read. So my lesson that I learned while reading my summer reading book is, Find a book and commit yourself to reading it! Photo by: dimland

Things I Would Like To Acomplish My Freshman Year of High School
I have a lot of things I would like to accomplish this year. One thing I would like to accomplish is getting on the honor role. If I don't make the honor role I would at least make an A in Biology because I love Biology and I think it would be a good thing if I could be in a honors class next year. Another goal i have for the year is to get to know a little bit about everyone in the grade this year, new and returning students. The last goal I made for this year is to be a hard working cheerleader and really get out either on the football field or basketball court and do my job.
