A Lesson from Jane

Something I have learned from reading the Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman is that you cannot judge a book by its cover. Even though Jane was black she was just an innocent little girl looking for her freedom and happiness. But also we ran into black men in the novel that were not on the same path as Jane. They were rude and crude to her. So that shows that just because they are black does not mean they have the same goals and the same thoughts.
